We know that a bib short is never "just" a bib short. It's the one piece of kit that decides whether your ride is remembered for the scenery or for the chafing. Born and raised on the cobbles, bergs, and monuments of Flemish cycling, we currently offer five bib shorts and tights, each built with a different kind of ride in mind. Here's a closer look at what sets them apart, and which one belongs in your kit bag.
The Adventurer: 'Ploegsteert' Cargo Bibshort
If your idea of a good ride involves gravel sectors, cobbled bergs, and a route that keeps you out longer than planned, we built the 'Ploegsteert' Cargo Bibshort (€150) for you. We named it after the unpaved sectors of Ghent–Wevelgem, and it shows: we designed this short for exploration as much as performance.
What makes it different from a standard bib short is storage. On top of the usual anatomical, second-skin fit, we added two side cargo pockets and two rear pockets — four in total — so you can carry food, tools, and spares without relying on your jersey. We finished it with an Elastic Interface 7h+ chamois, our new seamless bib braces, and reflective detailing for those rides that run into low light.
Available in two colorways — Tarmac Black and Cobble Grey — which are identical in every feature, so the choice really just comes down to which one you'd rather look at in the mirror. As with all our bibs, we advise women to size down one size.
Ideal for: long, self-supported rides, gravel adventures, and anyone who'd rather carry their own snacks and spares than depend on a support car.
The Racer: Kannibaal Seamless Bib Shorts
Named after Eddy "Kannibaal" Merckx — and we only gave them that name once our own Belgian pro riders had put them through their paces. The Kannibaal Seamless Bib Shorts (€190) are the most technical piece in our collection.
The construction is the headline feature: a single piece of micro-knitted fabric, laser-cut, with the leg gripper knitted directly into the fabric rather than stitched on. The result is a short with no seams, no stitching on the legs, and none of the pressure points or abrasions that come from traditional construction. We added a highly breathable pad rated for 8+ hours, seamless flat braces, and a low front cut, and the result is a short you might forget you're wearing — until, of course, your next toilet break (we do advise you remember to take them off).
There are no cargo pockets here. This is a pure performance piece, finished in stealth black with a black-on-black silicone print, and we make it available for both men and women (women size down one size).
Ideal for: race day, fast group rides, and anyone chasing the most seamless, chafe-free feeling money can buy.
The Everyday Classic: Tommeke Women Bib Shorts
We named these after Belgian cycling favourite Tom Boonen. The Tommeke Women Bib Shorts (€159) are less about cargo capacity or laser-cut seamless construction, and more about being a reliable, women-specific short you can reach for ride after ride.
We built them with a tailored anatomical fit designed specifically for the female form, our BBC Troon™ 2 chamois insert, breathable mesh bib straps, and muscle-support compression Lycra. Our Schok™ leg gripper concept keeps everything in place without digging in. We've rigorously tested this short on the cobbles of Flanders, so don't mistake "everyday" for "under-built" — we simply position it as the dependable, go-to option rather than the flagship.
Sizing runs from XXS to M, exclusively in women's fit.
Ideal for: regular training, club rides, and anyone who wants a dedicated women's short without paying flagship prices.
The Winter Companion: 'Liege' Winter Tights
When the temperature drops, most of the Ploegsteert's DNA carries over into our 'Liege' Winter Tights (€160, down from €200) — just with full leg coverage and a warmer build. We named these after the Liège–Bastogne–Liège monument, and we designed them for winter adventures, when protection and comfort must be combined for the journey to leave a good memory.
We brushed the interior for warmth and temperature regulation, while keeping it breathable enough that sweat evaporates instead of turning cold and clammy against your skin. Like the Ploegsteert, it carries the same four-pocket cargo layout — two on the sides, two at the rear — plus an elastic ankle hem to keep everything secure without added pressure. You'll also find the same Elastic Interface 7h+ chamois and seamless bib braces as its warm-weather sibling.
Ideal for: cold-weather training, winter base miles, and long days out when you still want the storage capacity of the Ploegsteert but need real protection from the cold.
So, Which One Should You Buy?
If you're chasing long miles and want to carry your own supplies, we'd point you to the Ploegsteert for warm weather, and the Liege as its winter equivalent — think of them as two versions of the same philosophy, built for different seasons.
If it's race day, or you simply want the most refined, seamless short we make, reach for the Kannibaal — just don't expect any pockets.
And if you want a trustworthy, women-specific short for regular riding without stepping up to flagship pricing, the Tommeke fills that role nicely.
Across the board, we make all five Italian-made and Belgian-tested, they follow the same general sizing chart, and our rule of thumb stays the same throughout: women should size down one size from the standard chart.
